AEGIS Covid Safe Charter

Cambridge Guardians are pleased to be AEGIS accredited and have been following the advice in the Covid Safe Charter.

Our host families successfully looked after students both in the Summer and over Christmas when they were unable to travel home. Following the new travel guidelines, Cambridge Guardians will continue to look after and support our students when they cannot stay at school and travel home is not possible or a sensible option.

Travel Changes from  18 January 2021

All travel corridors have been suspended and students must self-isolate after arriving in the UK, even if they have tested negative. Students travelling to the UK from abroad need proof of a negative coronavirus (COVID-19) test result. They need to have taken the test in the 3 days before they travel.

Several countries have banned or limited UK travel meaning some students are currently unable to return to their home country.

China: All direct flights from the UK to mainland China have been suspended. This measure will be subject to a future review but no date has been given.

Hong Kong: Travellers to Hong Kong who have visited the UK for more than two hours within the past 21 days will be denied entry. Though UK arrivals are currently prohibited, the Hong Kong SAR government has mandated that all future UK arrivals must quarantine in an approved hotel for 21 days.
