    Cambridge Guardians are experienced in providing Guardianship and school placement for students who board at St Joseph's. We offer caring host families who provide a safe and welcoming home from home for holidays and times when boarding is closed.

    To help prospective students and their parents find out more about life at St Joseph's weekly virtual tours take place in both English and Mandarin.

    Monday tours commencing 26th April at 11AM (BST), tours will be conducted in English on WebinarJam.

    Tuesday tours commencing 20th April at 11AM (BST), tours will be conducted in Mandarin on Tencent Meeting.

    Partnership with EasyA - Instant Online Maths Tuition

    What is EasyA?

    At Cambridge Guardians we are keen to give our students access to the tools to help them learn. Our partnership with EasyA gives students on-demand access to Oxbridge tutors in minutes via an App on their phone. By getting students help right when they need it, EasyA make it easy for any student to achieve higher grades. Phil, a Cambridge graduate founded EasyA to solve a big problem he faced for years, both as a student himself and when working as a tutor: getting students help right at the point in time they need it. He and his co-founder Dom have recruited an impressive number of Oxbridge graduates who are skilled at helping students learn. With an average session of 30 minutes students are able to quickly access a maths tutor who will guide them through the question, explaining how to find the answer and helping the student to actively learn.

    Cambridge Guardians are experienced in providing Guardianship and school placement for girls who board at St Mary's. We offer caring host families who provide a safe and welcoming home from home for holidays and times when school is closed.



    Potential families and agents are invited to join St Mary's for their International Student Open Morning, which will be running on Thursday 18 March 2021 between 9:30am and 12:30pm UK time. The event is completely free to attend!

    This morning will consist of personal Zoom meetings to give agents and families the opportunity to meet key members of their Academic and Pastoral teams. They are available to answer any questions you may have on any aspect of life and learning at St Mary’s, as well as the practicalities of applying from overseas.

    Rugby has been a traditional strength at St Joseph's College. However they offer many more sports, including their Elite Football Academy and Tennis Academy offered to UK and international students who have a passion for the sports and want to receive an excellent education.

    Boarding Schools: Virtual Open Boarding Events

    ​Cambridge Guardians support many students in UK boarding schools.

    This year schools are adapting by creating online open days and events.
    This is a great way to find out what each school is like and get a feel of the atmosphere, ethos and facilities, especially when an in person visit is not possible. Cambridge Guardians are happy to help you with school placements and recommendations. Our Finding the best UK school or college for your child page lists many schools where we have supported students with guardianship.

    Happy Chinese New Year

    Happy Chinese New Year!

    On Friday 12th February 2021, Chinese New Year (also known as Lunar New Year or Spring Festival) begins. It is a goodbye to the Year of the Rat and hello to the Year of the Ox.

    The lunar new year is a chance to start fresh, see loved ones and share in the hope of good things to come.

    We are looking forward to our students who are currently at home being able to return to school soon.

    UK Entry Requirements have changed:


    Travel corridors have closed and people must self-isolate after arriving in the UK, even if they have tested negative. On arrival, a completed passenger locator form and proof of a negative coronavirus test is required: https://www.gov.uk/uk-border-control
  • Wintercomfort Cambridge

    This year due to the Covid restrictions Cambridge Guardians were unable to have our annual Christmas Afternoon Tea to thank the host families who looked after students throughout the year.

    Instead we took the opportunity to donate to a worthwhile local charity who support homeless people. We received the following email thanking us and explaining how our donation will help.
  • Cambridge Guardians Covid 19 Update

    AEGIS Covid Safe Charter

    Cambridge Guardians are pleased to be AEGIS accredited and have been following the advice in the Covid Safe Charter.

    Our host families successfully looked after students both in the Summer and over Christmas when they were unable to travel home. Following the new travel guidelines, Cambridge Guardians will continue to look after and support our students when they cannot stay at school and travel home is not possible or a sensible option.

    Last week Heather attended the two day MAGIC conference keeping us up to date with all things to do with UK Guardianship. AEGIS (The Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students) and the BSA (The Boarding Schools' Association) have recently entered a partnership to work together in the best interests of our International students.
