This year due to the Covid restrictions Cambridge Guardians were unable to have our annual Christmas Afternoon Tea to thank the host families who looked after students throughout the year.

Instead we took the opportunity to donate to a worthwhile local charity who support homeless people. We received the following email thanking us and explaining how our donation will help.

Thank you so much for your generous donation to the Wintercomfort for the Homeless Christmas Appeal.Your contribution will help us to continue our provision of vital services supporting the most vulnerable and marginalised individuals in our community, particularly at this challenging time of year.As we face new and ever greater challenges, we nevertheless continue to empower people to make positive change within their lives and to move out of homelessness.  We have adapted our services to deliver remote support and counselling to those currently living in emergency Covid accommodation and continue to provide these people with delivered hot meals. Last summer, we implemented a range of new Covid-safety measures here at the centre and thankfully, this means that we can now remain open daily for rough sleepers. None of this would have been possible without the generosity of those who support us.Once again, on behalf of everyone at Wintercomfort, thank you very much indeed. We wish you a safe, healthy and happy New Year!
