Happy Chinese New Year!
On Friday 12th February 2021, Chinese New Year (also known as Lunar New Year or Spring Festival) begins. It is a goodbye to the Year of the Rat and hello to the Year of the Ox.
The lunar new year is a chance to start fresh, see loved ones and share in the hope of good things to come.
Though the occasion is meant to be spent with family and friends, the coronavirus pandemic means that celebrations around the world will be different this year. For our students who are at home this means that they will be able to enjoy the festival with close family. Our students in the UK are enjoying a day of celebration in their respective boarding houses and as it is the beginning of half term host families are preparing special dinners to welcome their students for the half term.
The Ox is a hard working animal and represents movement so we hope that in 2021 our students will soon be able to start travelling again.
